Diamond Cottage, Gresford

We were commissioned by WCBC to knock down sections of an unsafe wall within residential properties and to install a new footing and to rebuild it, using reclaimed bricks and lime mortar with a cock and hen topping. We then had to landscape the gardens and install boundary fencing. Most of the site was soil and seeded with a 10m tarmac path on the sloped section. The job involved moving large quantities of material in and out of the tight garden with difficult access.

Works Included:

  • Liaising with local residents

  • Fencing off the gardens and making a safe working area

  • Demolition of wall and outbuildings

  • Cleaning up reclaimed bricks

  • Reinforced concrete footing for wall

  • Over 100m2 of wall rebuilt using reclaimed brick and lime mortar

  • 3 x 6ft post and vertical panel fencing installed.

  • Grounds levelled and top soil and seeded.

  • Various pointing and renewing of bricks in isolation to section of wall that remained

  • 10m of tarmac path with kerbs.

  • 100m3 cubed of rubble and soil removed from the tight residential gardens with limited access, using a 1.5 tonne machine, 1 tonne dumper and a Hiab
