REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
Morton and Jones have recently had a 50kW solar array installed. This will cover a substantial proportion of our electricity needs during the sunnier Spring, Summer and Autumn months. It will also help us during the brighter winter days.
Our carbon footprint is expected to reduce by almost 20,000kg per year and consequently reduce the carbon footprint of all of our products manufactured on site.
This initiative, along with our continuing quest to reduce our overall level of emissions will help our environment and contribute to the UK goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
The total energy generated from our solar installation up to November 2023 is 157,086 kWh
Based on average UK electricity generation, this has saved approximately 40,000kg of CO2 from being emitted. (Solis calculate the savings as 156,620kg but this is based on electricity generation in China which still uses a lot of coal).
